Truly beautiful. I love how you (I suppose ?) lit the balancing boulders to bring them in front of the picture.

you have reason to feel proud of it, you could catch and show our little location in the universe, the composition of the galaxy and the rock seems to reveal a lot about us, our planet and how it was manufactured in a mysterious way.Β
Gorgeous, I could spend hours talking about this image.
actually my sincere compliments !Β for the excellent work. Β

Oh my god- so flipping gorgeous! I almost started crying. Not even joking.
I just really, really love stars. I'd give anything to see a view even a fraction of this beauty someday.

Hey Greg, first of all amazing image! I love the rocks... What did you use for the light painting on the rocks? Flashlight or flash? I'm curious what the master is using to get the desired effects.

CapturingTheNight In reply to MarshallLipp [2012-12-26 05:12:36 +0000 UTC]
Thank you very much Small head torch and even then I was not pointing it directly at the rocks. I was pointing it at the ground and letting the light reflect up onto the rocks. Flash is FAR too bright.

Cool, I figured it wasn't the flash. I use my headlamp as well, usually set it at its lowest setting...3 lumens I think.

I haven't commented on this one, Greg because I was waiting to have the words to express how it makes me feel. I may still not have them but I shall try anyway. It's strange how a picture can evoke emotions that are damn near inexpressable--like this one of yours. This fill me with the wonder I had when I was a kid and seeing the night sky with those innocent eyes. Too bad those same eyes become so jaded with time
That;s what I love about your night sky images--it clears away all that murk from my vision.
Excellent work, as always, my friend Thank you for sharing your work with us
