Decided to try out Lasso drawing after watching on of Jama's videos:[link]
Really fun, keeps you fresh and you don't get bogged down into the details as fast. Great for warming up, I'm going to keep doing these.

Whoah, that's actually impressive, specially knowing you started with nothing special in mind! Looks like you can get really interesting stuff using this technique!

yea I just did another one last night, my fiance kept saying "why aren't you drawing? what are you doing?"
and then 20 minutes later "wow thats cool!"
It is a very weird process but fun, and doesn't let you overthink things. It really is drawing just to draw.

It's cool looking but the process is waaaay too frenetic for me, I'd feel like I have too little control.

It's weird at first when you're just laying down shapes, but after a while you just start drawing with it, it felt natural pretty quickly. The only problem was that I kept forgetting to use the lasso and just gradating my entire painting... which reminds me I need to set up a ctrl+z on my wacom...

I have no idea what Lasso is, but parts of this style reminds me of some of the art in the Sandman comic book series.

I just mean the lasso tool in photoshop, so you just make random selections of areas and fill them in either with gradient or texture, then copy and flip them into random shapes until you see a picture. I think I get what you mean about sandman, McKean is very photoshop heavy and this ventures into vector land even though that's not what it is.

Lasso is a tool you can use in Photoshop.
This is very cool! I watched the video and I decided it's something I probably would be no good at. xD

aw you should give it a try! This was my first time, as long as you just keep going like a stream-of-consciousness, it just sort of comes together.

Maybe I will. Did you know what you were going to draw before you started or did you just make it up as you went along?

nah I just made this one up, just made random shapes, then copied the layers and rotated and scaled, just trying to not focus on creating
an actual object/image but just fun shapes, then as it got more complicated I started looking for something in them. Let me
know how it goes!

Well it turned out really cool for not being planned.
Okay I will if get around to trying it. I tend to procrastinate. xD
