Just realized I've never posted a reference sheet for CB, so here it is~Story:
Cocoa Bean is a unicorn who wanted to become just like his father, a carpenter earth pony. As he grew up and started learning the profession, he refused to use any magic - if his father could do it with his bare hoofs, so should he. But, as he was not an Earth pony - who are the physically strongest pony type - he couldn't lift heavy things or hold the instruments very well. Still, being stubborn, he didn't listen any advice and kept restraining his magic and over-working his body.
One day, when trying to fix a leaning tall bookshelf, he couldn't hold it anymore and it fell on him. The impact could have been terrible and Cocoa Bean would certainly break a few bones if his father didn't jump in and shielded him with his own body. Fortunately, he didn't get hurt, except for a little scar on his cheek, which never completely healed.
After that day, Cocoa Bean kept that memory as a reminder of all the bad things that might happen if he kept trying to be something he wasn't, and started trying to learn carpentry while using his natural gifts. A while later, he build his first thing by himself: a three legged stool, which in that moment became his cutie mark.
Done in Illustrator CS2.

I remember that story, you told that in other drawing!It's the same lesson Twilight Sparkle had to learn, to be youself.That's a pretty good thing!
He is cute, I liked the little sparkles from his magic and his pose, it's quite fluid and seems he is having efforts to hammer.
