Description

Jangle fell to sleep wrapped around her favourite plushie. It was a big squishy Dragonite with buttons for eyes and crinkly blue baby material on its wings and belly. She'd had this toy, which had been carefully crafted by her trainer, ever since arriving at this ranch and she would always wrap herself around it on a night. It made her feel warm and safe.

Jangle had never wanted for anything. She had all that she really needed and felt good in herself, but tonight was different... As she snuggled into the plushie she started to wonder what it would be like to be a big strong Dragonite. She had never thought about it before - unlike Wolfy, who had been utterly desperate to evolve to become bigger and stronger from the very beginning. She didn't want to be big so she could battle huge foes... she just... wondered what it would be like.

Jangle fell into a deep slumber. Her dreams were filled with Dragonairs and Dragonites and she felt unusually small. They surrounded her and smiled down at her like she was a newborn baby and, despite being so powerful and at such a high level, she suddenly felt so weak. She quickly slithered away from the big pokemon. She knew they weren't trying to hurt her, but she felt like she didn't belong with them. Suddenly, she saw a shadow in the distance and quietly snuck towards it, not wanting to startle whatever it was.

To her surprise, it was just her big old Dragonite plushie. She let out a relieved sigh and curled around the toy. She felt better already. It was like the Dragonite was giving her strength. She closed her eyes tightly. She could feel a strange sensation covering her body, wrapping itself around her, making her feel strong and revitalised. Her ears started to feel strange and tingly. Then, she thought she felt herself growing, like she was going through some sort of rapid growth spurt. She turned round and round, trying to get a look at herself, and spotted something odd... there were two little orbs at the end of her tail... but that couldn't be right... Dratini didn't have them, only Dragonair.

She held her breath as she realised what had happened... she had evolved!!

Suddenly, before she had a chance to get used to this new body, she heard a bang in the distance...

She awoke with a start.

Just a dream... she thought to herself as she looked up at the big Dragonite plushie. Then, she noticed something... she saw her own tail wrapped around the other side of the toy and... there were those orbs again! She couldn't believe it! She'd evolved while she was sleeping! It was like her dream had come true!

She sat up and held her head high, feeling proud of her new form, then looked up at the plushie again. Suddenly, she realised that she didn't feel all that different after all. She hadn't outgrown her toy, she still felt protected when she was near it. As she wrapped herself around the toy again and lowered her head to the ground with a smile, she realised that she was still the same old Jangle.
