It's better to have a tablet. you can do it with a mouse, but it's longer.so, a quick tutorial on how to do neat line arts.
pretty simple to follow. You only need to know how to add layers and how to use a brush. this simple!!
the character used for this is my OC Ariste ^^ the position is inspired from makai kingdom little booklet that came with the game) changed it a little to suit the character's personality ^^
hope it will be of some use to you!
I used photoshop to do it, but you can use the same method with open canvas, SAI, painter ect...

......oh, but like how did you get it to delete the blue layer alone and not the pink layer is there a way for you to select different layers?

Wonderful tutorial! I just ordered a tablet and was worried about drawing with it since I do outlines quite like this. I'll be sure to use this when it arrives! ^^

To make lineart, I make vector layers and outline the sketch with the curve tool and pressure modifier.

this looks like it will be very helpful once I can get my tablet to work with Vista, i always find it fun to experiment with different methods of coloring and linearting until i find one that is just right

While I do have a tablet, I prefer to ink with the mouse by using the pen tool instead. With CS, you can add pressure to the path you're going to stroke therefore, giving it a tapered look automatically.
