Description After searching for a version of the kana-based DigiCode on the Internet and turning up nothing, I went ahead and made my own version for use in this deviation: [link] And now, in honor of the anniversary of the North American airing of "The Eighth Child Revealed," I'm sharing it with everyone!

Please read everything before downloading!

Terms of Use

Although I created the font, I didn't create the DigiCode, so I don't think it's fair to demand that you credit me every time you use it (and please, Bandai, don't come after me either!). However, I did have to pay ten bucks to make it with yourfonts.com, so if you do use it, credit would be appreciated--at the very least, please direct anyone who asks about it back here!

I'd also appreciate it if you left links to the pictures or projects you make with the DigiCode here, so I can see your fine works! ^^

Installation

To use this font, click the download button. Windows 7 users should be able to install it automatically. Users of other versions of Windows should find the file (usually located in the download area or desktop) and move it into the following folder: C:/Windows/Fonts . Once there, it should appear for use in programs like Microsoft Office and Photoshop.

Mac users....I'm sorry. I don't know about your systems. But you should be able to look up how to install fonts on your operating system with Google.

Notes

This was drawn freehand, and I'm no professional, so it is NOT 100% PERFECT. At sizes of 24 or larger, there may be some slight but noticeable flaws in some of the glyphs. You can correct these manually for graphics projects (bolding also helps) or, if you really want a 100% perfect version, ask me for the file I used to create the code. I'll give it to you and you can touch it up and run it through a fontmaker again.

Please note that if you type a letter or symbol that isn't part of the chart (e.g. [ ), your font will drop out of the DigiCode and you will have to manually reset it.

Easter Egg: There is one exception to this rule. If you type the '^' symbol, this font will automatically generate the words "Digital Monster"--the most commonly used phrase in this font, found on many Digimons' ribbons and holy rings--in DigiCode.

And here's a direct link to the website mentioned in the deviation: [link]

*NelaNequin has made a lovely Digimon Adventure digivolution sequence brush set with these! It can be found here!: [link]

I found the image used on the Internet and included it, considering it fair use for educational purposes. Many thanks to Shigeru82 for providing the initial chart.

Digimon is (c) to Bandai, Toei and their affiliates.

Can't you just create a Japanese Unicode Font of this? You know, if I type in English letters, it will appear as the Roman base and if I switch to Japanese Keyboard, it will appear as the Kana Base.

i made a brush from these for the sake of making things like growlmon's digital code easier to draw out, for clip paint studio and manga studio; you can see it here,

thank you a lot!!

Wow, this is amazing!! (and quite useful!)
Do you ever think this can be updated to a font compatible with the Kana keyboard?

Caretaker-of-Myth In reply to Hoshi-no-Tsubaki [2017-10-14 05:21:48 +0000 UTC]

I honestly have no idea about such things; I'm sorry! I would imagine that if normal fonts used on a qwerty keyboard can be updated to fonts compatible with a kana keyboard, this could be too!

I'm kind of shocked that chart of mine still exists on the internet, even after all these years.

LilithWhitic [2015-02-05 12:01:05 +0000 UTC]

This is amazing! <3
But I have a question...is this just a "fanart" translation or the offical translation to write correctly in the japanese digicode?
I'm german and my english isn't that good, so I don't understand everything here, I'm sorry ^.^

The reason for my question, i want a digicode tattoo, that says "dead or free" and I would prefer the japanese digicode, could someone translate the words correctly (!) for me in the japanese code? <3 would be really nice! ^.^

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Caretaker-of-Myth In reply to LilithWhitic [2015-02-05 18:26:19 +0000 UTC]

This is the official translation to write correctly in the Japanese Digicode.

To get a proper Japanese Digicode tattoo, you would first have to translate the phrase you want into Japanese, and then apply the table. Unfortunately, I don't know how to translate the phrase you want into proper Japanese. You should probably get a Japanese person to do that. GoogleTranslate is not always a good tool for this, and if you only used that, your tattoo could end up saying something that wasn't grammatically correct.

Once you have the phrase you want in Japanese, come back here and I will make the correct translation into Digicode Good luck!

Is it okay for me to use it for a Brush-Set? I want to do a brush-Set with costumn Digimon Adventure Evolution Graphics for August 1st

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Caretaker-of-Myth In reply to NelaNequin [2012-07-28 19:11:39 +0000 UTC]

Hm, well, I'm not sure how you could make a font into a brush set unless you took some characters and made each one an individual brush, or made a group of them an individual brush, and I'm not sure if using it as a brush would be any easier than using this as a font but....whatever floats your boat? Go right ahead.

Just be sure to link back here in case someone wants the font, yes please.

NelaNequin In reply to Caretaker-of-Myth [2012-07-28 19:15:20 +0000 UTC]

I am redesigning the backgrounds from the evolution. So it will be a couple of characters per Brush

Thanks a lot. Of course I'll link back

I can't believe I never commented on this before. Wonderful job, clearly you put in more effort than I did. Would you mind if I added a link to your font in the description of my English digicode font?

RoyalKnightV [2012-07-08 23:48:27 +0000 UTC]

Prodigous! ANyway there is actually another version of Digiletters that work more like Roman Letters, so I guess the show uses both a Kana and Roman systems

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Caretaker-of-Myth In reply to RoyalKnightV [2012-07-09 02:09:40 +0000 UTC]

I am aware of it. It's used less, but I believe you can find it on Omnimon's sword, for instance. *Mooshimon has already taken care of that one. Personally though, I prefer this one. Looks more magical.

You do get a bonus point for "Prodigious" though.

RoyalKnightV In reply to Caretaker-of-Myth [2012-07-14 05:53:30 +0000 UTC]

That shows the key on your keyboard you want to press to get that specific symbol. Obviously American computers are set up with the Roman alphabet and not as Japanese computers are, so I did what I could to make the chart easy to read!
