I was just wondering did you use the pen tool to outline a border when colouring?

Sometimes I will, but mostly I only use the brush for coloring ^^

Even the refining was made freehand or did you use a line tool or something? q-q

I'm referring to you as Senpai from now on ; u ;
And I'm also watching you.
Yeah.
Sounds like a plan c:
Your art is magic.
And your lineart is life.
How long does it normally take you to produce a picture?
Or go from one step to the next?
Also, I can see that you've gotten your perspective down c:

Thank you xD
It's about the rule of perspective~We often use 1 point perspective, 2 point perspective and 3 point perspective(there are also 4,5...).
Every line meets at these point(s).
We use the perpective to make >“Everything looks small in the distance and big on the contrary.”
You could find some perspective tutorials~I see there are many this kind of tutorials in dA~

Amazing! Im curious, why do you work from SAI as well as PS? Does SAI have something that photoshop doesn't? some of the best skyies ive seen were painted on SAI, can't help but wonder .

CaringWong In reply to AaronMetallion [2014-06-01 11:38:21 +0000 UTC]
I think Sai is more light than PS. Especially the smudge tool, It's more useful in Sai. So, You can have a try.^_^

Very interesting process for the first picture, thanks for sharing :3
Do you use various layer Modes (like Multiply/Screen/Overlay) on the Shade and Colors steps?

CaringWong In reply to goodsirxv [2014-05-01 13:29:52 +0000 UTC]
For the shade, I used the multiply and for the color, I only used the normal layers ^_^

Hei, thanks for making this! Perspective it's somehow new to me and I was wondering if you can explain how you've chose the vanishing points in the second picture [Houses on the Stopping Train]. They are 2 sets of 2 points perspective right? [I hope I'm not totally beside the subject T-T], how do you choose where to put the 2nd set for them to look right? Is there a rule? ^^'
You don't have to reply if you don't want to//

CaringWong In reply to TKatomika [2014-04-15 20:29:13 +0000 UTC]
In [Houses on the Stopping Train],it's a cavalier perspective. There are more than two vanishing points. But you can take it as there are many two-point perspectives. Because the carriages are irregular, I put each carriage as a unit, each unit has their two-point perspective. And the key is that these two-point perspectives vanish on the same horizon.
