It's great to work with, very forgiving and it's not as scary as some may imagine, you can really create a lot of effects which you simply can't with other mediums.

Hiya, you can get water based oils these days, and odourless paint thinner.. i don't use them myself but they could be great to experiment

If I could make one little itty-bitty teensy weensy suggestion...
I think it would help if your brush strokes went across the form, instead of following the outside contour. For instance, on the waist of her dress, if the strokes followed the circle of her waistline, instead of her back. It would just add a bit more volume/shape to stuff.

It's an amazing piece! The way you've angled her face, and the space between her hair and her back work nicely to keep this from simply been a profile shot. Excellent!
