This is how that sketch I uploaded of the Aztec Emperor a while back, turned out in final. Editorial wanted him leaning forward looking at the lizard. I thought it was cooler before but this definitely works better, and looks better.Related content

This looks awesome. I really dig how you did all of the Aztec carvings. haha. I just noticed the blue fingernail paint too. Funny how it makes him look so imperial.

Good. I was hoping he didn't look camp / metro, ha ha. I wish I had more time to get all the Aztec detail in there. This is just a sketch of what I wanted to do.

The old saying is that only a cat may look upon a king, but I guess that the same applies to a lizard. This is magnificent--I love the details and the glowing effect of the fire!
