Description An image from a book I completed recently called Kura's Story, about the Polynesian travelers who landed upon New Zealand and became the Maori.

This image shows an old wise woman from the story with the young main character. I had to research many details for this book such as the feathers in the hair, the Moko, or tattoo on her chin, the flax dresses and feather capes.

I took liberties with the jade pendant which wasn't really in use until a couple'a hundred years later, but what the fuck... If you can't have an Elvis record in the Victorian age then why even bother?

Cheers, bud. I did some research and some some lovely stuff which I used liberally. I was working with a guy from the Wellington Museum and he pretty much just said "go for it".

How odd. Just as I click on your deviation and read the title, the guy in the song I'm listening to say: "It gives me a line, I cross it."

Anyway. As always the colours are awesome.
