Description Unity looks at our connection with nature and the modern day barriers that get between us and the simpler things in life. It's a back to nature kind of piece. We surround ourselves with floral pattern in print on clothes, textiles and tattoos, without realising that the connection we long for is actually much closer than we think.

All of your works are great, but some just stand out to me personally, so sorry I don't favourite everything I see of yours (although they are all of such a high standard). However this just stood out to me so its a keeper for me!

this is a wonderful art!

critique:
-great colours however the blue on the person and the right( which i assume is the "nature") is very nice but i feel that my eyes cannot focus on a single or "main" thing in this drawing. maybe you could link them together somehow or use a different colour either on the person or the right side.

- the right side is just a blue blob to me i want to know what it is you've done wonderful detail in the drawing and inking out the flowers and leaves. maybe use a different colour to be used as a shadow
ex: you can incorporate the redish brown or plum into the shadows of the blue or some of the tea like green/brown. so i can bring some depth into your painting

i'd love to help you more! you are a wonderful artist!

Thanks Lemonlnu, I'm pleased you picked up on not being able to focus on the two elements - that is the point I was trying to get across - our separation from nature .. the blue blob, is an attempt to bring in abstract elements to the piece where the viewer is able to fill in the gaps that are not accurately described in the painting, there are hints of detail whereas the shape is undefined leaving your mind to imagine the rest of this world.. I often leave white space in the works or underworked areas that suggest elements - it's kind of like when we focus on an object - the things around it melt away and become less important - rather than make these things blurry I like to leave them undefined.

I really appreciate your comments and your help - particularly with elements that I am trying to push in new pieces of work, the hardest thing for me to define is when a piece is complete..

It was my pleasure! As an art student I as well have problem whether I think my work is finished or not.
Thank you for explaining the "blue blob" i feel that now i understand it makes more sense.
in my honest opinion, i see where your going with the blue and i see the abstract elements. as an idea i think you can further melt together the bottom or the top where that would seem like it is what you are connected to it

I can't wait to see your finished piece!

Good luck!
