Concept explanation:

While this is not the only God of the No One's Tower Universe, they are considered to be one of the main three deities that possess abilities too abstract for humans (and other sentient species on Earth) to understand. Referred to as They, the God of Contradiction and Unity represents abstract concepts and directly applies these concepts to reality.
A part of this deity's motif is the binary numeral system. 1 and 0, the two kinds of bits that form the binary numeral system, can be used to encode opposing mental concepts. As contradictory 1 and 0 are, they come together to form, well, everything: everything can be expressed through them. Well, languages usually use letters and math uses a combination of both numbers and letters, but binary is unique thanks to its simplicity, being formed on only two basic symbols. Thus, a fitting choice for the God that represents how contradictory elements can be combined to form more complex concepts and objects. Also, space, planets and galaxies are part of the inspirations as well.

" To be able to exist implies the ability to not exist. Being alive implies being able to die and being dead implies you were once alive. Life is defined by death and viceversa, and so are many things in the universe. Death and absence of life are not synonyms however, as something that never existed yet cannot be alive and thus cannot be dead. As what do we use in order to define a concept, an object, an idea? We determine what it is and what it isn't. Without comparison an object has no meaning, and objects have no meaning if there are no other objects to be compared to. And everything can be the same or different based on who decides the definitions. Do you think it is enough to consider everything just particles and make the whole universe be just a mess of microscopic elements, so insignificant separately that you would not care to differentiate them? Or do you consider everything to be unique by existing in a specific time and place, thus nothing is truly equal?
The God Of Contradiction and Unity is a being that both exists and doesn't exist. Their existence implies they would be able to not exist, which again implies they could exist. They contradict their own life and yet will bring their presence and absence together under the name of possibility. As this is what this god does, they allow the universe to exist as it now, full of coexisting contradictions. So thanks to frost we know warmth, and thanks to torridity we know cold. So thanks to hate we can distinguish love, and thanks to love, we can feel pain. So thanks to light we can see the dark and thanks to the dark we can see the light. As concepts cannot exist in isolation of their contradiction, but rather in a unity that gives them meaning. And so this God allows the world to have meaning despite having virtually no meaning.
Even magic can be accessed thanks to Them, as magic is the science yet unexplained by what is considered to be understood. "
