Description
READ LEFT COLUMN FIRST, THEN RIGHT COLUMN.That's it, this totally proves that I'm a masochist to the extreme.
If you think the last tutorial was long...pffft. IT IS NOTHING COMPARED TO THIS BEAST. This is at least double the size of the last one D:
I made a poll awhile back asking people what they'd like to see most in my next tutorial. Out of the options I gave, I got mostly inking, hair, background, coloring large areas, blending, and a whole lot of "EVERYTHING!".
You guys got your wish. I included EVERYTHING
This isn't ALL of the steps (I think I left out at least 1/3 of it), but these are probably the most useful stuff to put in a tutorial.
I hope this will be helpful and that you guys can get something out of this! (If not, I would be terrible sad). I tried not to repeat myself from the last tutorial and go over new things. So yeah, let me know if it helps. I will be very happy :B
Have fun!

...yeah, I'm gonna go sleep for the next 24 hours now, kthxbai

When I saw your first tutorial I thought it was fantastic. Usually I'm reading through tutorials where suddenly a background is added in the middle of drawing but your style is similar to mine ((including every bit of detail)) so I guess this one was the best for me. I use colored pencils currently but I plan to get copic markers pretty soon so I would refer to your tutorials more often for help ^_^ thank you for makin it =3

Woah! I read your first copic marker tutorial and it was awesome, but this one is awesomer!
I haven't got my own set of copic markers yet ( :/ ) but hopefully I'll get some soon so I can follow your really helpful advice!
I really wish I could draw like you. The distinction of each of the characters is something I struggle with +_+
They usually all end up looking the same. :/ Lol.
Btw, thats the Hawtest Harry Potter I've ever seen

Just wondering, but did you layer on Kyoya's hair? I'm not sure what colors to layer when coloring black hair. Did you use both 100 and 110 or did you use a gray? Or maybe a dark brown like E29? I liked the way the hair came out for you, but I don't want to buy unnecessary colors cuz I'm close to broke from buying too many Copics. XD

Hi ^^ I know it would probably be a little bit of a hassel, but I thought of mentioning how cool it would be if sometime when you had extra time maybe recording a tutorial as you colour/ink/etc. Techniques and other things I think would be easier to understand with a live tutorial. Of course I understand you are busy working on everything and whatnot but I just think it would be really cool it see a video tutorial!

Wow...I need to buy copics. They're so expensive though
One question - How long do copics last? Do you have to buy new ones/refills all the time, or do they just keep going forever? I need to know so I can keep within my budget.
Thank you for the tutorial, I can seriously say it has changed my life. I never knew you could colour things like this, or that such fine inking pens existed. I am forever in your debt

Great tutorial!
Just a tip: Instead of using a paintbrush, using an old toothbrush with paint on it and running your thumb over it can get smaller splatters.

Great stuffs! I'll have to give it a shot!
Here are some tips I got from different sources that might help out with stuff:
BUY a kneadable eraser (the one you can mold and play with the like putty) roll it until it becomes a thick cylinder-ish thing. Then ROLL it on your art work. If you want it to work well you'll have to go slow but if you go fast it won't push around the paper. Crinkled paper will be a thing of the past.
For large areas of marker, now this is just here say from a teacher at college but he seems to be pretty all knowing, if you colour using tiny circle motions it will get rid of any streakiness.
Thanks again for posting this!

oh boy this information is really really useful! Problem is I just started buying copic markers and heck I still have 251 to go
and that's just Copic Sketch!
Oh well, I'll get the entire set when I end up 50. I wonder what would the results be from just using 10 base colors

This is a lovely tutorial but I don't think I'd be using it because I'm a poor girl and I doubt I can afford all the copic markers you have.
But, just for the sake of art knowledge, what do you mean when you say 'layers'? Is it layers of papers or just...?
Sorry if it sounds lame.

SimilarShadow In reply to TwiForever [2009-05-07 15:34:24 +0000 UTC]
Layers of marker ink. Like you put down a base layer of color over everything, and then add in another layer of marker to shade after it dries. I think that's what you were asking.
