Ah, so he hit a window so you could get this shot? Hummingbirds are awesome so I hope he was able to recover enough to fly off soon enough to get some food for himself - their metabolisms are incredible (yet somehow they manage to migrate). We get hummingbirds at my house - we put out feeders with plenty of nectar and they fight amongst themselves over it. I think I even saw some sort of mating ritual once...it looked weird, but still like a dance. Albeit a very fast dance, mind you

I think he was fine... I watch them every year and when the thistle flowers are out there are twenty buzzing around!

Poor little fellow, he doesn't look well and I don't think I've EVER seen a hummingbird on the ground before. I hope he's alright.
