I am forever bewildered at why the Erins thought "Thistleclaw gr**ms Spottedpaw to fully solidify his evilness" would be a good plot idea. I haven't read the novella (so pls correct me if I'm wrong), but from the summaries I've read, it may be difficult to see why the relationship is bad at first, and younger readers might have a harder time picking up the nuances and red flags that come with these kinds of relationships. Seems like Spottedpaw herself only realizes she's in trouble when Thistleclaw reveals his role in the dark forest, rather than because of all the other creepy things he says to her leading up to this.

So it might have been effective to show some other character slightly alarmed at Spottedpaw's relationship with Thistleclaw?? Maybe after Spottedpaw gets out of that situation and becomes a medicine cat, she tells her mentor,Featherwhisker, off-handedly about Thistleclaw's behavior and Featherwhisker's attitude towards Thistleclaw from that point on becomes very sour. haha idk man i don't really write long descriptions anymore, but i'm just so baffled, there were so many ways to do this plotline and the Erins went for well...whatever Spottedleaf's Heart was.
