No. They were a bunch of lights on the other side of a small lake. I used the zoomed my lens in and out while it was taking the photo to achieve this effect. It took several tries, especially as the lights change color.

Not real sure. It is working again. The guy said it could have been several things. Of course it was working fine by the time I took it in to be looked at Hopefully it won't happen again!
Since it was @ night he said it was possible that a combination of the cool air and moisture may have gotten in and messed up the contacts. He told me what to do if it happens again (hopefully I will remember!).
