Nice shot!! When I was still actively photographing stuff, I always wanted to do some 'webs like this, but mine never showed up the way I wanted. I never got to try shooting against a black background with a side or upper right or left light source to light the web so that one would get the reflections to the camera. One would have to experiment with the lighting angles to get the optimum brightness of the web and dewdrops into the pix. Frost on the webs is another story...a fill flash really brightens the hoarfrost...

Well it was overcast, threatening rain with some fog... so it provided a really dark backdrop... then the sun started coming thru.. So i was able to get some really dark shots and then some nice and bright colorful ones. Fortunately they were high off the ground and I had to use a ladder to get them, so i could shot under them and get the sky in the shot and the reflections of light.. Like I said i was just lucky,,first time i have ever photographed spider webs..

I wonder sometimes if a polarizing lens would help bring out the webs. I never got to try it. The one shot that I regret not getting was waking up at sunrise one late September to find my back yard covered with little glowing "mini-trampolines" of spiderwebs, dew covered and lit by the rising sun....and no film for my camera...Drat! They were one of those species that made little funnel type of web.
