Another practice portrait on varies skin tones. This time I wanted to challenge myself with facial hair. ^^Guess who? lol

Straight out of almost nowhere you jump to using colcours and do a pretty damn good job of it!
I do admit being able to see his two teeth looks abit funny, but oh well - you were only copying what you saw in the photo

One of my art instructors told me once that is you can grasp and apply the fundamentals of form & light/shadow when rendering the human figure then any medium available at your fingertips can be succeeded. Once you know the basics then your choice of tools is merely a small hurdle in just understanding the medium itself. ^^ (Sounds deep, right. XD He said a lot of stuff like that, but I'm beginning to believe that it wasn't absent minded babbling. ^^)

That sounds reasonable, I agree - once learning the basics, any new medium becomes much faster to learn...I think the hardest a traditional will ever do is maybe moving to digital for the first time (since it's really high tech) luckily going from digital to traditional would be a bit easier, but I've been doing both for so long that I forget what the conversion was like
