just another dumb little doodle about these two, inspired heavily by the idea of a retro futurisic 90's dystopia while listening to combat cars soundtracks (think batman beyond meets combat cars meets 90's grunge, etc) and the "what if" scenerio in which the genesis retcon and poorly focused crossover never happened, and/or it did but only affected sonic, eggman, or both.

the main idea I had going on here is that following the destruction of the deathegg 2/3/archie version, the deaths of sonic and sally and many others in mobotropolis during it, rosemary, amadeus, and the council finally destroying the monarchy by way of naugus and tails doll while turning the world into a twisted place not too dissimilar to certain aspects of the silver age and silver saga arc's, as well as eggmans own plans for the future and robotniks former empire. tails grew up to become a distant and bitter person, feeling as though the world turned its back on heroes and with his family all but destroyed and dead in his eyes, he simply accepts the words once thrown at him a lifetime ago and puts his technical skills into underground combat street racing, commiting petty crimes, and clever heists. however unbeknownst to tails, that very same person was not even the one saying those words, either via it being her anti-counterpart or (can't rember who it was who pointed this theory out) because scourge made a deal with finitevus to kidnap and brainwash her with the intention of learning the inner workings and weaknesses of the freedom fighters in order to destroy them (and to simply hurt them as deeply as possible in scourge's case). with the spell broken/ her being freed from her imprisonment (thanks to the first genesis wave, with the second one either being stopped or appearing to do nothing as the "post reboot" is just a major jump in perspective to ANOTHER prime/hub universe) fiona's return home is not pleasent when she sees what's happened, and the one person she believes she can still trust no matter what has grown from a bright eyed and empathetic kid to a bitter and cold adult.
