Description
There's room for only 2 men in my life:

Charlie Chaplin, for obvious reasons...

and the ever so beautiful Jeff Buckley.

He was one of the few who could make people gasp for air with his music. While he stood on stage, holding his trustworsty yellow telecaster in his arms, he slowly bent toward the microphone to sing with his heavenly voice. As a result, people went silent and listened to his heart.

Lonely is the room the bed is made
The open window lets the rain in

Burning in the corner is the only one
who dreams he had you with him

My body turns and yearns for a sleep
that won't ever come

It's never over, my kingdom for a kiss upon her shoulder
It's never over, all my riches for her smiles when I slept so soft against her...
It's never over, all my blood for the sweetness of her laughter
It's never over, she's a tear that hangs inside my soul forever...

But maybe I'm just too young to keep good love from going wrong?
Oh lover, you should've come over...

I've been working on this drawing while listening to the Live at l' Olympia album. I got stuck in an artblock and personally the only way to get rid of it, is by either listening to music I like, or draw someone I love. I choose to do both.

I first made another sketch of Jeff, which is very dark, eerie and raw, and then decided to do an opposite drawing: light, beautiful and soft.

Drawn with 4H, H, HB, 2B 0.5mm mechanical pencils and 2H, H, HB, 2B, 3B regular pencils on A5 sketchbook paper. Tissues, cotton pads and Q-tips used for blending.

Approx 5 hours.
