My newest pride and joy!
A double portrait of princess Zelda and Link.
Total size of each drawing:
1" x 1" / 25mm x 25mm / €2.-
Back in the NES era Zelda was the first game I liked to play.
...Good old times!
While Zelda was the last portrait I've drawn in 2011, Link's portrait was the first of 2012. I used two references for the poses, but changed their facial appearances to my heart's content.
I spent about half an hour on placing the eye shimmering with white gel by using a needle. In between every heartbeat my hand was steady enough to press the needle (+ white gel) on paper. But even then I hit the needle 0.3mm too high or too low for about 2 or 3 times, and I had to start all over again.
The pencil in the picture is to show how small they really are. Both portraits were, as usual, drawn with mechanical pencils.
I'm thinking about selling these 2 portraits, so if you're interested in buying them, don't hesitate to send me a note!
:~~~~~:~~~~~:~~~~~:~~~~~:~~~~~:
Stuff used:
- 2H, H, HB, B 0.3mm mechanical pencils
- 2B 0.5mm mechanical pencil
- Schoellershammer natural paper
- kneaded eraser
- 2 reference images
- white gel + needle for eye shimmering
- magnifying glass
Time spent:
10 hours for Zelda
8 hours for Link

Amazing. Drawing portraits of these guys seem hard enough, tiny ones sound even harder.

Oh...my... Aside from the fact that your time and effort was VERY well spent...you managed to draw both of them perfectly! Everything is perfect! I love their designs! Link looks almost realistic! Even if you didn't mean it, the changes you made to a TP Link's face is an improvement! Great Job! I love it!

I'm really really impressed! Just today my art teacher was talking about how small drawings look so much different than big ones...and if they're good they draw you in more and stuff. This is a really good example of that!
