Description
Chapter 1As i walked down the main street in Scarlet, a grabbed a newspaper off the free rack at a news stand.
Headlines read 'Reaper Saves City Once Again'
Reaper Saves.
I smiled.
Scarlets very own born and raised scrime fighting superhero.
Also the love of my life.
That's right, i'm engaged to marry a superhero.
I re read the headline over.
'That's my man,' I said to myself.
It was late, and the sun was setting.
I'd be wise of me to get off the streets.
Scarlet may have a superhero, but that doesn't mean its a safe place to live.
Sure enough, dead ahead, right under a street lamp.
So clique.
2 men twidling their thumbs like they still had their innocence.
I recognized them.
They were part of the major mob here in Scarlet.
Since our hero has an alias, of course the mob boss has his own cheesey nickname.
Scyther.
Eddie Scyther.
When Reaper came out, Scyther decided my man would be perfect to add to his team of drug dealing scum.
Thought Reaper would like a partner, and seeing as Reaper's and Scythe's go hand in hand, thought Reaper would understand.
Stupid man.
"Hey pretty lady, wanna make a few bucks," One of the men asked me.
I made no eye contact and crossed the street.
"Aww, don't be like that," The other called after me.
"She looks kinda familiar," the the first one said.
Great, one of the perks of being the girlfriend of a superhero, the crooks always manage to know who you are.
"hey you look familiar,"
I quickened my pace, hoping to conceal the fact that i had reached for my mace can i had hidden in my coat pocket.
I didn't see the third man cross the street to add to their party.
He grabbed my arm and spun my around.
I'd been in these jams before.
I kneed him in the groin.
He groaned and retreated in pain.
I pulled out my mace can, when one of the others slapped me accross the face and pushed me down.
I dropped the mace can, and it rolled out of my reach.
Regardless i reached for it.
A foot stopped me, crunching down on my wrist.
I glared up at them.
"ooo, look mac, this ones got attitude,"
"So do I," said a voice behind the men.
Reaper.
A quick scuffle with the druggies and they were sent home to report their failures to their 'strong and fearless' leader.
Reaper stood before me in his superhero costume.
Black Zorro Mask.
Purple hood, pulled up over his pitch black hair.
Black spandex shirt over a purple fishnet.
Black jeans.
Pure black converse.
His ice blue eyes ran over me for a moment searching for any unseen damage.
There was none.
He bent down and scooped me up.
"Are you hurt my lady?" he asked, treating me no different than the others he's rescued, as to not give anyone reason to come after me.
"I'm completely unharmed," I answered.
He grinned down at me, only for a second.
Then it was gone.
He was the hero who saved the city.
That's who he was.
First and foremost
