Description Whenever Aria heard me coming through the trees, she would quickly get up and run over to me, humming quietly, happily, and rub her forehead against mine. I reveled in the contact each time. I couldn't help it; she was so beautiful. She was so kind. She was so pure.

It's interesting talking with a mute. It's like playing a constant game of Charades and Twenty Questions. It might seem like it would get tiresome after awhile, but it didn't for me. If anything, I looked forward more and more to our meetings. I was kind of worried about her, really. She was a young thing– hardly older than myself, in fact. Her already having evolved was a bit surprising, especially considering how unskilled she was in fighting; the only damaging attack move she was able to use relatively well was Razor Leaf, which didn't do much to the kind of pokémon that lived in the forest. But that just gave me one more reason to see her as often as I could.

I occasionally wondered how she had evolved; wild Eevees such as myself had some influence on when they evolve and what they become, but there's only so much one can force upon themselves. She had been a Leafeon for quite a while, from what I had been able to gather from her, and an Eevee as young as she had to have been at that time would have had to be under major duress in order to build up the adrenaline necessary to evolve quickly. I have heard, however, that there are some items in existence used by humans to speed up a pokémon's growth and force them to evolve. Something that had the power to force a natural phenomenon normally taking months to prepare for to occur in only a few moments sounded very cruel– not to mention painful. Could Aria have undergone this torture? I dared not ask her, for fear of upsetting her.

At any rate, she seemed content enough to simply lie in the grass with me and just let the world go by. And I was more than willing to comply, especially if she were feeling in the mood to sing– which, I might add, was quite often. She would sing until the sun went down and it was time for me to retreat back to my home for bed. She was always so sad when I left for the night, so lonely; so I eventually began sleeping next to her to keep her (and for her to keep me) company. I fell asleep to her soothing lullabies almost every night, and I woke to her quiet, sigh-like snores almost every morning. It was bliss.

Arceus only knows why it had to end.

I know, I know... it's been a while since I updated this. Sowwy. :c Next one will be up much faster, I promise!

This is one of my favorites of Angies's work. I will be talking about both the image and its description. In a forest, you know how its like, trees, grass, yeah. Here it seems like in the middle of a forest, the two Pokémon relaxed, side by side, alone, and Aria and Ace seem very happy in the forest together, but they are unaware of the glaring red eyes in the darkness behind them - This probably gives the people looking at the image anxiety, wanting to tell them to turn around but no way to get to them. Its really sweet seeing that even though she can't speak, Ace will do his best to make sense of her notions so that they can know each other better. It shows that Ace cares about what she has to say but can't speak. How Angie describes her singing gets me the thought of what it would sound like - enchanting. Mystical. It even makes me feel excited to hear her sing, not alone Ace. With such detailed images and detailed descriptions, it felt like I was Ace myself. Back to the quote "Only Arceus knows why it had to end", it reminds me this is a memory. He knows what is going to happen because it did. Though this image makes you feel really happy and happy for Ace, it gives you fear of what is going to happen in the next part. What feeling this image gives me is that it makes me happy and calm, but also somewhat scared in a sort of way...

Wow. You got out of this image and story exactly what I'd been aiming for: the simple sweetness and joy of the two interacting with a clearly ominous foreshadowing of what is yet to come. Thank you SO much for taking the time to write a critique. You're the first person to do that for me! So props to you.
