Description
"Optimism and enthusiasm was something Anise had no short supply of. That being said, even she had a point where she began to feel the very slightest bits discouraged at the progress that was being made by her students. Buck had been her student for the longest out of the two and to say his progress thus far was abysmal and non-existent wasn't... necessarily an exaggeration... Not to say it was his fault! It was most definitely her fault. She was probably just a bad teacher! Even though her second student, Qiana, was doing quite well and had gotten past things that Buck was still struggling with... No, no, it was most definitely her fault somehow and she had been making several mental notes to figure out a way to be a better teacher. The entire swim class had been getting a bit... tense lately. With the date that the crew of the ship Blood Oath would be setting sail coming ever closer, the ability for both of them to be able to swim was, in Anise's mind at least, probably the most important thing that needed to happen. As ashamed as she was to admit it to herself, she had been getting a bit frustrated and a little pushy in the most recent classes. The both of them may or may not have been shoved off rocks into barely deeper-than-shallow water in one or more instances. Sometimes baby birds need to be pushed from their nests! They'll never learn to fly without some sense of impending death or urgency! Needless to say this method resulted in lots of cursing and screaming but... little to no progress.
Hoping to give them all some much needed relief and relaxation from all of that, Anise decided to spend today's class on a sort of mini-vacation/fieldtrip. While exploring for pretty shells and rocks (or anything pretty or shiny that her friends might enjoy) she had found the little tidal pool cave. This had been a pretty ideal place for her to hold swim class, but she decided to look elsewhere when there ended up being no good places from which to shove her students into the shallow water. Jumping into said shallow water she was thankful that whatever kind of yellow paint they used on their faces seemed to be pretty water resistant, given how much she went swimming it would be annoying to reapply it daily, or multiple times a day. After surfacing, she slowly treaded water and looked for her students on shore. Buck looked grumpy as usual, even with his back to her it was obvious, as he poked around the small cave. When she noticed Qiana was watching her close to the water's edge, Anise did a few small flips and tricks in the water. Just to... inspire her student. Or something like that."
