Our newest mare, Ricarda, in her first show, The Koniglich Mini Show !

It was time for an experiment. Ricarda had just recently arrived at the stable, but Hannah wanted to test out her show attitude. She had ridden her a few times, and knew she wasn't likely to throw a fit or anything, but some of her staff still had major doubts.
It wasn't a good idea to go and show a horse you had ridden only a couple of times. But Hannah was crazy like that, and she usually turned out to be pretty damn right.

"I can't believe this!" Megan complained. "She's going to make us look like idiots in front of all the other barns."

"Well you're making us look like bitches in front of the other barns," Caroline retorted. "Besides, this is a small show, everyone's bringing their new guys and greenies. We look no different than the rest."

"Yeah," Megan replied, "We don't look different now, but when Ricarda spooks at something we didn't know she was afraid of, and Hannah falls on her ass, we're gunna look a whole hell of a lot different."

"No, we're going to look like we have a green horse. None of this is going to happen anyway!" Caroline exclaimed. "Ricarda is a champ, she's been showing for years, she knows her job, she's going to be fine." Caroline assured her.
"I should be the one riding that horse," Megan grumbled.
"She's not crazy, why would you?" Caroline asked with genuine interest.
"Look at that thing," Megan said, "She needs a good rider."

"Hannah is a good rider." Caroline answered shortly. It was clear the conversation was over.

Ricarda walked into the ring, and instantly her pace quickened. Her ears perked and her eyes lit up. She bounded toward the first fence, flying over it with ease. She looked up to the next jump, and Hannah pulled back on her. The mare was getting a bit too excited. She listened to her riders command, and slowed down.

She flew through the rest of the course, and finished clear.

"Why were you worried again?" Caroline asked, smirking at Megan.
