One thing that's been going around tumblr the past few weeks is pokemon variations!! I'm a bit late to the party, but I really wanted to try some! *o* I had a lot of fun with these, I definitely recommend making some of your own!!If you want to know anything else about these subspecies I have plenty of headcanons eve

It's been a little while since I drew these but I can tell you what I remember! I took a lot of inspiration from ferrets for the inland one, so a lot of their behavior might be similar to that? If you're looking for inspiration, you could try googling stuff about ferrets/ferret owners I bet! Also, since they've adapted away from living in water a little bit, they probably aren't as strong swimmers as other breeds, partly because of their thick fur which isn't as water-friendly. They would probably be pretty good at digging though, especially with their shells. Beyond that, I haven't gone that much more in depth, but you're free to add in whatever you think seems right~
As for the evolutions, I'm really sorry but for right now I don't have any plans to draw them :< I'm really swamped right now anyway so I wouldn't have much time to draw them even if I wanted to unfortunately! You're always welcome to make your own though of course, I'd love to see them if you ever do!!

I meant what was bred with oshawotts to create the kitten sub species. (Autocorrect can be a pain in the ass.)

Hmm, to be honest, I didn't have other pokemon species in mind when making most of these guys! I kind of imagined it would be because of breeders selecting Oshawotts to breed based on features more favored in contests, like an Oshawott that had particularly fluffy fur. If they kept at it for a couple centuries' worth of generations, their contest-bred Oshawotts could end up being much softer, smaller, and floofier than their wild counterparts. I got some inspiration from the fact that people have been doing selective breeding with domestic dogs and cats for a really long time, which is part of why dog breeds look so different, which i think is really interesting!! (Or maybe there is some skitty DNA in there somewhere too, who knows!)

I love these!!! So much. I think the game would be so much more fun to me if there were variations like this based on locations. Like, most that I've seen have been solely about selectively bred so I haven't really thought about this bend. I'm imagining it now and I'll bet it would be a pain in the ass to program. Too bad.

Haha yeah, it would've been a really cool concept for the games to have, it would've made breeding really cool!! Maybe it would've been easier in some of the earlier games, since there were a lot less pokemon... but still you're right, sooo much programming ._.
