Disclaimer: Contrary to popular belief, at no point in time has the Doctor drowned in a vat of candy floss. Which of course isn't to say that at some point in time that might not come up.*Fingers crossed*
In other news I nominate Tom Baker to replace Matt Smith when he leaves. I know, I know I also nominated him to replace Simm as the Master but honestly I don't see why he can't do both.

Oh. I don't remember much from Donna or Martha. I was young when I started watching the newer Doctor Who and most of those two seasons with Donna and Martha are a blur to me. Names weren't important to me when I was 10 either... Hahaha...

Generally when they start dropping hints about the Doctor's demise that means the actor only has one more full season. So Matt will likely get that season plus a bunch of specials culminating in the events at the Fields of Trenzalore--which may or may not be the 50th anniversary special, and will probably be where River learns the Doctor's name.
