I tried but at the end of the day i was too tired from all the walking around and lethargic from the heat to actively draw ;_; it was a very tight scheduled week and the only time i was able to draw was in the car and..not the best place to draw LMAO, i took lots of pictures to draw and get inspiration from though. :">>

wow, this is beautiful, you just barely moved into more cartoony proportions and the effect is quite striking, his arms and thighs and hand all pop out much more than they normally would giving the eye a bit more to focus on specifically, i am really liking the only weird thing is the angle of the shoulders would suggest the wings are not attached

looks a little bit disproportional - especially the size of his palm and the size of his shoulder (unless it is a quite specific breed)

does he have some other colors painted on his face?
because as for now - the shading looks strange - like it is not that close to the viewer yet it is more accented than his elbow/arm

The shoulder and hand actually are a bit large for the rest of his body. I've always had issues with the shoulder from that angle and I think I often enlarge hands (not intentionally, mine too are a bit larger than they're "supposed" to be so I think it comes from that). The face I've done with more detail because it is a more important feature than an elbow. I want to lead the viewers eyes to certain areas, the elbow not being one of them, so that's why there's the lack of information there. I used carbon pencil for this one so once that was layed on paper I couldn't erase it( the body is graphite but I wouldn't be able to change the shape). The carbon pencil looks quite sketchy in real life, so I thought I'd keep this more on the sketchy side. I should probably use reference next time!

while studying the basics of academic art - i tend to switch to the nerd type -
like for the picture to be more in balance, or to look more natural.
for your composition taste - you have never failed, and you've really mastered that aspect i'll give you that
even if you'd do something based on intuition - it surely is the right way
and it is something very admirable
and i love big hands - just on the sketch, probably because of the angle - it stands out
maybe while coloring it - you might win over the situation with some interesting lighting, changing the focal point (what you were actually aiming for), making the front somewhat blurry (meaning the arm)

Ah that's okay! It's certainly noticeable when the image is smaller (and really I should have stood back from the image from time to time to check everything is okay, but I kind of blasted through this one). Thank you for the compliments! I probably won't be colouring this one, due to the time I have available and other works that need doing -including yours-, but perhaps in the future. I think if I were to colour though blurring the elbow might be a bit much, otherwise his arm may look like its much further out than it actually is; which may even elongate it unnaturally. I think the hand would probably look less large if I had made the webbing between the thumb and index finger a bit more shallow. It looks a bit full which might be making it even more noticeable haha.

Ahha actually no! I had a uh, giveaway a bout a year ago for gaining 666 followers on my tumblr, and this character belongs the person who won. The character happened to have wings which they wanted done in charcoal. I suppose it all ties in together to make it seem like he is Lucifer without any of that background context!

That was my assumption as well. Beautiful man with wings, a sword...um, isn't that a serpent on his left side?Named "666"....no, this could not *possibly* be an image of Lucifer Morningstar.
