Although they have language and mental capacities similar to humans, they are solitary creatures without their own civilization. They may interact with other sentients but rarely live among them and shun large urban areas.

Irei (eye-ray) is an adolescent. The tentacles he has on his back are thought-controlled tools and are commonly used as more dextrous appendages by Murkein who live near other sentients. The footguards and straps are the Murkeins' ideas of jewelry, and the hood is another usual adornment. The reptiles themselves can't create many artisan crafts, so these were most likely made by humans.
