Description
We felt it before we saw it, a deep vibration surging through air- a monstrous heartbeat.It has emerged from the sea and followed the moutnains, its immense footsteps immentently aimed toward the village. We flew past swiftly, daringly, into its shadow, the cranes shivering underneath their saddles. The assesment was grim. There is nothing we can do to stop it but hope it turns to spare our lives.

The Black Critical appears.
This state is new and needs exploration, as it's drastically broken form from traditional criticals. Originally I wanted to draw glowy heart and veins, and it came in to this.
Trying to kick my ass in to the next level and actually work at full force [or: detaildeath, argh!]. Will do things somethings differently next time, but I'm hoping this is a good start.

I love this, it's painterly enough at parts to add real character, but realistic enough to generate that "holy ****, there's a monster and it's going to EAT ME!" reaction you can get with really realistic fantasy art. Looking at your gallery, you do some fun stuff with looser brushstrokes, too, I really hope to see more of both. Congrats on the DD, too

Detail. wow.
I love how the mountains look all craggy and icy-covered, as if flowing water going down them had suddenly stopped.
The monster kinda reminds me of a Hydra, and all the tubes coming out of its heart, it's almsot as if I could pluck each one like a guitar, not that I would *want* to..
The cranes certaintly do look magnificant, you can even see each induvidual feather!

I love yours shading and coloring of the whole thing, and the bird-riders(thingies? x.0 xD) add a nice contrast to the darkness of the monster(once again thingy? xD)

Kinda looks like a fusion a Hunter (Resident Evil) and a Horror (Eternal Darkness). I like it, its cool. ^_^

This is by far one of the most fearsome Criticals I've seen you do. There's something in the face, the fangs, the glowing orange of its eyes and innards, that really creeps me out. The styling on this one reminds me quite a bit of Barlowe's Pilgrimage to Hell series - it's that kind of disturbing.

Oh my goodness this is amazing psycho! Everything from the perspective and movement of the cranes, the beautiful sharpness and quality of the details you have invested in both the central subject matter and the surrounding landscape just reels you in. I love the perspective of the foremost cranes wing and its rider, everything in this image seems so "real" and believable.
I definitely think this is one of your better works! Keep it up
