Such a weird Pokemon this one, and so under-featured. It's similar to Giratina, in that it's a bizarre extra Legendary without much explanation, and Kyurem as well, but I think it's even less explained than that. We've seen Xerneas, Yveltal and Zygarde, but unlike the Creation Trio and the Tao Trio, these three aren't really given much linkage to each other. The only link between Xerneas and Yveltal is that one is life and one is death, but that doesn't really link much to Zygarde's dominion of 'order'. And Giratina and Kyurem are talked about in the earlier games in their generations. I don't even think Zygarde is mentioned by NPCs.
tl;dr - I can't wait for "Pokemon Z" so we can finally learn a bit more about this guy, and maybe how the three link up.
And I know I ranted in an unrelated way to your picture, sort of, so let me see... I like how you did his scales. Don't quite understand the point of the plants and I like his head.

It seems unfortunate that we did not get a "Pokemon Z" version. But they definitely did a great job at giving Zygarde some more explanation in Sun and Moon by giving him some new forms (all of which depend on the number of Zygarde cells that the form is comprised of).Β

I kind of wonder if Pokemon Z began early production, but Game Freak wanted to move ahead to Gen. 7 so the existing Pokemon Z material got rolled into Sun and Moon instead.
He clearly has some link to Xerneas and Yveltal, since his arms in Complete Form are their colours. I'd guess since evolution is the way life avoids death (if lucky).

Not sure, but that actually was the case for Generation 2. During the early production of the original Pokemon games, Gamefreak was actually going to combine the Pokemon from Kanto and Johto and make it one whole generation. But they decided to split them into 2 separate generations (why they decided to do this, I don't exactly know). That's why Johto had so many branched evolutions of Pokemon from Gen. 1 (such as Slowking, Politoed, and Bellossom) and why Lugia is the trio master of the Legendary Birds of Kanto despite being from Gen. 2.Β
Well, Zygarde Complete form is based on Hel, the ruler of Helheim which was the realm of the dead in Norse Mythology. Since Xerneas and Yveltal represent aspects of life and death (as well as other creatures from Norse Mythology), it's understandable why they'd give his arms their respected colors.Β

If you're diligent with Zygarde Cell and Core collection, then Zygarde is the earliest attainable legendary you can acquire in Sun & Moon, and possibly in the entire core series, though it's difficult to make comparisons. However in most of the other games, the legendaries require the defeat or capture of the mascot (due to being scripted), as well as beating the Elite Four and Champion to unlock them. Zygarde, on the other hand, don't give no shits about that and you can get him at 10% pretty easily.
Completely different topic: I'm curious about what happened to Po Town. It's mentioned that 'something terrible' happened there, and that Shady House was abandoned by a 'certain rich citizen', but no details have ever been given. I'm curious what the story there is.

It's sort of why it's hard for me to be excited about Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby, because I want "Pokemon Z" so we can find out what Zygarde's deal is.
