i played around with this quite a bit adjusting the perspective to try and compromise between the two buildings. anyways i wanted to try a "polysulphide gold" look because i've always liked the shimmer effect. i though it might go well with art deco.lower part of the R.C.Harris Water Filtration plant, Toronto [link]

Really great shot ... perspective works well .... i had shot the waterworks so often when i was a teenager, but i doubt any of those b/w film images are around anywhere (damn) ...

The great thing is that they have cleaned up the buildings and re-landscaped the area facing the lake.
I can't wait until they finish the front because i have some shots planned for there. I'm hoping to to get some indoor shots as well, the interior is so amazing.
Hope you find those old images it would be so cool to see them.

i haven't really taken a good look, just passed by ... i really should make a plan to stop & shoot
as to my old images .... doubtful i'd ever find them .... since then i've moved probably 15 times & lived in 4 different provinces, had three kids ...

It was built for the future and very hi tech at the time so I wanted to try and capture that futuristic look.

WOW, this picture looks like you just got it out of a fantasy novel. I really wish Americans could learn the appeal in architecture. Most of our buildings are "Modern" probably because it is cheaper and more "practical". So a water pump looks like a water pumping facility, and a courthouse is a short squat building. Of course some of the older towns have good architecture, but a lot of the newer buildings just don't cut it. Anyway, sorry for going off on a tangent on architecture, you are no architect, but still it is an amazing shot, love the angles that are in this shot, and the perspective from which you took this shot. Amazing.
