God, how many years has it been now? Here's an oldie but a goodie, I think. I can say for sure that this is probably the most memorable page I've ever colored and ever will color. A lot of little things that I didn't realize would be meaningful came together in this page. Like the little red trauma lines that I threw in on a whim (back in series one) the first time I colored gert being hurt while psychically connected to Lace... I never realized how strong of an element it would become in the future. Or the fact that I was told early on NEVER to use black in the gutters so this HAPPENED to be is the first time black was ever used for the gutter. Or that I came up with this idea for bleed spatter to fade color a few weeks earlier for another book... It was such a perfect storm of page and hell THIS IS THE PAGE that I would've wanted that storm for.
Anyway, every team member on the book poured a lot of themselves into this page and I think it shows.
BTW it's been a few years now, if this page is spoiling anything for you, I'm sorry, but it's been like... man... 3 years now???~??!!?

You better be telling the truth. My teeny heart snapped when it heard that Alphona wasn't doing SMLMJ, and since then it's been on the road to recovery, but false hope like this could be fatal.

I second that. I much preferred the art in the original team.
It's what attracted me to Runaways in the first place. To Marvel, actually.
I'd gone off Marvel stuff for many years. When I stumbled upon Runaways on a trip, I was intrigued.
The art wasn't so much of the classic 'overly-drawn' square-jawed stuff that I knew Marvel for.

RUNWAYS is Vaughan, Alphona, et al. Others may come close, but never can they replace the original team.

It's definetly a strong page emotionally. I never got to this point in the series but always wondered exactly what happened. I'm going to have to start picking up the trades again. Nice job
