Description
Tczang and Ritual had been surprised when the huge Harpia had offer to let them ride her, but they accepted the offer gladly. As she took off, they were worried that they might fall, but she assured them that her rider would use his magic to keep them from slipping. Only slightly comforted by this, they did eventually begin to enjoy themselves. Just is the sun was beginning the crest over the horizon, they landed on a massive cliff which faced the rising sun. The shadow-person leapt off of the Harpia, who had introduced herself as Xenith, and she told the two Tokos to brace themselves. They gripped her feathers and best they could, despite having the shadow-creature's magic keeping them on, and Xenith began to run towards the edge of the cliff, the shadow-person running beside her. Just as Xenith launched herself off the edge, her rider took a flying leap onto her back, and then they dove, the ground rapidly speeding towards them. Tczang felt like she might be sick, but Ritual thrilled in the feelin of their rapid descent. Once the ground got close enough, Xenith pulled up, and began to fly through a series of harsh and rapidly changing air currents. Once they had clear the course, Xenith's flight became smooth and stable, and she invited them the crawl down towards the edge of her wings, so as to have a better view. Ritual crawled down, trusting the shadow-person's magic, and was awed by the glorious sight before her. The land was spread out like a map, tinged golden and pink with the morning sun. Never before had she seen such a beautiful sight. Tczang built up her courage and joined Ritual. Once the initial feeling of vertigo had cleared, she realized that she was seeing a view that perhaps no other Tokota had seen before. She snuggled up next the Ritual, and the two of them watched as the world began to wake in the light of the new day.
