Description Otherwise, her
footsteps would remain unrecorded.
Her roundabout endings, and
runaround beginnings, would fade
like snow on a salty sidewalk.
The corners she cut
would stand untorn;
spangled originality
would die unborn;
the clashing colors of
renegade motley
would lie unworn.
So she scrawls across
walls she passes by,
inscribing with stolen keys,
filling the grooves with mercurial ink
from the inner pocket of her soul. She
“was here.”
Otherwise, her
footsteps would fade,
unrecorded.

This I really, really like. Biografitti, great concept, truth on many levels. This one's a keeper.

BTW, how did you like working with lulu? I'm trying to choose between that and lightningsource.

Thanks, I'm glad you like it. I wasn't sure if I should keep it at first; it started out as my response to a creative writing assignment for which I had to write about graffiti ... I guess it grew on me after a while and I decided it was worth adding to my gallery.

I really enjoyed working with lulu.com, it was very user-friendly. But you can only upload PDF files, and since I had a lot of fonts in mine it took some time to embed them. I think the most difficult part was designing the wraparound jacket for the cover, but they do have people who can do that for you (for a fee of course). I just wanted to design mine on my own, and it was somewhat confusing to put together since I'd only ever designed paperback covers for my college's literary magazine and I wasn't used to lulu's print dimensions. But it turned out well enough, I'm very happy with the final product. Plus they have a live chat on the website if you have any questions, that really helped me. I would suggest ordering only one copy to start with and make sure it's the way you want it. I guess it also depends on how many pages are in your book. The price for shorter books is very reasonable, I think the base price is around $15 for a hardcover. But they charge extra for longer books and once you get past 200 pages or so, it really starts to add up.
