Description
I tried a realistic version of my OC Celestial, who's a Goddess who can shape shift to various creatures and beings in her image. Her skin is supposed to be milky pale (her body doesn't have any pigments_, this drawings doesn't show it well...
Here she's in Elf form.
I'd welcome any ideas for techniques on capturing correct anatomy, better shading with pencil and charcoal, and any general tips for the lousy artist.
Edited and enhanced in Photoshop.
HB, 6B, Mechanical Pencil, and Charcoal used.
Ref of a model from one of the magazines I have.

This is a very good work.
There is a really a great sense of realism, especially in her face which turned out great. Although it's from a ref, I liked the look on her face
and the shading of her lips.
I don't know if this kind of contrast also appeared in the ref but, because there are a lot of white areas it's disturbing the eye on focusing on the main character. I think that playing a little more with the values could help.
For example: although there is a really nice blending in the bg between the black area and the white, adding more contrast to the bg by changing it to a light gray maybe could have made her hair to look more glowing.
Anyway, after this long "hafira" it's a really good drawing. well done!

First of, thank you for wasting your time to comment on this, telling me how to improve, this picture especially means a lot!
No, the contrast was edited in Photoshop, I like the dark shadows, I thought they enhanced the piece more..
I will definitely darken the background as you suggested, it makes a lot of sense now! It should really brighten up her hair, eyes and skin if I do so.
Thank you so much. ^^
And its most definitely NOT a hafira
