Welcome to part 2 of the series of fanart for the fanfiction “Prayers to Broken Stone”. If you have not read it, please, do yourself a favour and do so!

This fanart is from Chapters 9-12, just because there were too many wonderful scenes for me to draw. It reads from top to bottom, and left to right.

The first picture is when Bilbo stops Thorin from wandering off to have a bath, so Thorin embarrasses Bilbo by giving him a brazen look and letting his cloak fall. The second image is when Thorin watches an oblivious Bilbo reading. The third picture is Bilbo rubbing mint oil into Thorin’s damaged back, and the next picture is of them desperately hugging—I’m quite proud of the way it looks! The next picture is the heart wrenching suicide scene (Yes, I know Thorin’s face should only be half-scaled, but I only realised after I had coloured him in.), and the picture after that is where Thorin is bound to the throne by Bilbo to stop him hurting himself. The last picture is where Bilbo agrees to stay with Thorin till the end, and sits near him by the throne.

The reason why Thorin’s scales are larger is because the transformation is progressing. Also, there is supposed to be a metallic sheen in Bilbo’s eyes in the last panel in order to show the dragon spell, but I don’t think the scan showed that. Also, the throne gave me such hassles trying to draw it (and the pale green colour did not show through that well.)
