Comments now enabled because I'm sick of my page being spammed with comments I could care less to read, realize that you posting a comment here does not mean I will read it or respond, I will likely not do either of the two.
Ok before you read this or flame me remember that this is MY OWN opinion and I am not in anyway trying to change yours.
I have NOTHING against anime at all, it is not my favorite but I do not hate it, in fact I do enjoy a few animes such as Wolf's Rain, Evangelion, Hellsing, Excel Saga, and a few more. HOWEVER I am SICK and TIRED of people saying "anime is the best!" "I love anime!" "look I can draw anime!" "anime is so original!" when no one is really saying bluntly that anime sucks and that it is not art. and then I go to the front page of DA and see nothing but huge eyed anime girls with balloon like breasts, nipples the size of salami slices, and slutty clothing with the letters "kya" sketched next to it. All these pieces look as if they were drawn by the same person. I am NOT at all saying anime is not a cool style, it is an awesome style if used properly.
You can look through my favorites and see many anime pictures by artists here on DA I enjoy. What bugs me is when people claim their anime has style opposed to any other anime. Anime is a vast area of art, they're cartoons. People who obsess over anime characters as if they were real need to get out more.
I think if more artist stopped looking at pictures of anime girls or whatever that other people drew and just basically tracing it, and began to develop their own style this place and the art community as a whole would be a lot better.
Also this does not by any means mean I enjoy dogs with huge ears, anime eyes, 'kawaii' features, hair, and the cartoon animal style a lot of people share. This stamp focuses on anime but it goes for all art that needs more stylizing.

I was in Anime club too.. but it wasnet an official club, it was just a bunch of friends who liked Anime chillin out where ever we could find space XD;; It kinda died D:

You have a HUGE point here. Seriously, i've seen so many anime pictures that look so much alike. That's what buggs me. I'm putting this in my collection when i don't get lazy XD

You have a good point. I enjoy looking at the art of anime, some of the designs are really amazing, but when it looks like girls have huge colored pieces of cardborad for eyes, it takes away from the splendor of it. I've personally never really wanted any sort of cartoon of anime so I've never really understood why people make a huge deal about it, but then again its there thing. I don't like to insult what their hobbies are, but when it becomes overkill (the eyes really freak me out when they are the size of basket balls), it really starts to get annoying.

I love anime but like you said theses big boobie nude girls and the same fanarts are kinda old..Naruto is one of them each time I go to the front page there are so many people who draw this and I think it's not really the best anime in the world,I do love kenshin but you don't see me drawing him all the time,I like to change out I don't like to draw the same old thing it gets old after a while.

i like anime I just hate it when peopel use it over and oevr again. then they sit there and say "LUK I CN DRAW ANIMU!!!!!" as you said. cause it's really not anime.. It's more of a "LOOK I JUST COPIED NARUTO. GO FAV IT NOW!!!!!" I also hate it when people over use japenese words .Hellllo. Your not jap, get over it. u_u 'OMFG LUK ITS A KAWII DESU NEKO!!!!!' Then those dogs with eyes the size of the world they look like their gunna birst and they're prattically poppign off of the face O_O
Balto, TLK and other disney movies... Those styles annoy the fuck outta me then the artist say "I HAV NVR TRACED OR USED A REF!!!!" when it loosk like they cutted it out of a screenshot. pfffft

I. Am forever guilty. However, I don't exactly obsess over it. I mean seriously, anime means 'Animation from a foreign country' and wtf. People keep saying it's a style of art when it just means animation. In Japan cartoons here would be anime over there so. :/ I swear I try to create my own style. D8 I TRY. Kind of. meh.
At least I don't draw bikini girls with overly large heads and boobs that are twice the size of their body. I mean I can't even consider those anything but disturbing.

XDDD. Yeah, I wish we had more anatomically correct cartoon characters on US shows like the Japanese have, maybe that's why I don't watch many cartoons. And sub styles are good, that was the whole point of the stamp, to branch out.
And I'm not saying that obsessing over JUST anime characters is unhealthy, really it's ANY character. And loving a character isn't the same as actually believing they exist in the world and that you'll find them somewhere and be immediately in love and have sex until your ovaries fall out.

I agree with you on a lot of points--anime can be awesome if used right, but it gets old to always see "anime this" and "anime that."
I have grown to resent it after so long. Just... Guh.
