Description ANDROMEDA
© Coral McBride --- Do not alter or use without my permission.

In Greek mythology, Andromeda was the daughter of Cepheus and Cassiopeia, King and Queen of the kingdom of Ethiopia.
Her mother claimed that she was more beautiful than the Nereids, the daughters of the sea god Nereus. To punish the Queen for her arrogance, Poseidon, god of the sea, sent a sea monster (Cetus) to ravage the coast of Ethiopia. The king consulted the Oracle of Apollo, who said that the only solution to the problem was for the king to sacrifice his virgin daughter Andromeda to the monster.
She was chained to some rocks on the coast to await her fate when Perseus saw her and fell in love....but that is another story.

Overpainted and additional details and textures painted

Thank you Desmond....hard work though. In all the paintings I have seen of Andromeda, she looks so calm and resigned. Putting myself in her place, I knew that I wouldn't feel so calm and that is how I wanted to paint her

You should redesign the pic.Keep the dress, the legs, the face o the model.Repaint the hand the same way you've painted the legs.Remove the water, the dove,or paint them the same way you painted the(guess what?!) legs.Make it look more like an oiled picture. And probably you should retouch the dress just a little bit.
This is just me saying...anyway I like you're picture, but if it was me who photomanipulate this pic, probably I would've done it in the way I said.

Thank you for your comment but I do not want to redesign it. I repainted the hand many times and will leave any further editing for the future. The hand has more light source, which is why it is different from the legs, which have less. The model only had one visible leg and no dress, I painted both. I cannot remove the water as the artwork is about Andromeda, who was chained to rocks on the coast. There is no dove, the bird is a seagull as she is on the edge of the sea. I have already completely repainted two of my artworks and will repaint many more as my skill level improves and no doubt 'Andromeda' will be one of them. Why not do a version of it yourself as your ideas seem good and it would be different to my interpretation.

First of all I'm not that good in photoshop,I supposed that you have the skills for repainting the background. You've done a pretty good job with the legs and the dress. My idea was to maintain the the painting harmony at the same level. You have 2 different work styles on the same pic(model+background).
And i'm sorry 'cause i confuse the seagull with a dove!I will try to edit your picture, but i'm sure that it will not be as good as yours is,when i'll find some spare time.I never did something like this in photoshop,i mean paintings,so it will be a challenge..

I suppose that is because I am still learning and trying different techniques in order to find my style. I appreciate critiques if I feel that they are valid and am not offended by them although I believe that they are personal opionions. I don't want you to edit my picture because this is my idea and is copyright as such. I thought it would be a good idea for you to create one of your own as a learning exercise. I do not find painting easy although I found the sky and mist the easiest and the rock texture colour and redesign easy too but the sea and the model and clothing not so easy. It is a challenge but learning always is.
