If he was ever fightable, you REALLY would not want to lose to him—not without taking precautionary measures, first. He is too determined to win and he will steal from you the very thing that gives you your will to persist after death if you die by his hand.

You won't have a save to bring yourself back from that particular point again if you're not careful. If you are careful, good luck. Don't even try to go looking for him in Sephie's cave unless you're not having any Fun and you plan on waving blank white Flags; there's a 1/17 chance you'll see him if that's the case. You'll still have to get past Sephie first; only then you will be able to try your luck at encountering him if you know how to force your way back into that secret hideout of hers...
