Brian and Jimmy had no idea on what it was. It just sort of emerged in between them and sat there. Jimmy wanted for Brian to get back into the boat. His fishing line had been hooked on something that was in shallow water, and he didn't want to lose it. But now that the creature had emerged between them, neither of them knew what to do. The creature seemed to be focused on Jimmy, which even though it didn't make him feel safe, he knew that it might allow for Brian to make it back to shore. The only question was, could the creature come on land?

No one did anything. And for the longest time, they both just sat in silence.

Eventually, the creature let out some huffing sound before it edged out into the murky swamp water, in which Brian waisted no time in getting back to the boat.

Together they paddled out into the main river where the water seemed to clear up a bit. They could see no sign of the creature, only a few strange shadows. They took their time in paddling back home, being cautious not to make too many splashes with their oars.

Of course, Mom and Dad didn't believe them, and told them that it was probably a gator. A lecture about not getting out of the boat would quickly ensue.

But for Brian and Jimmy, they knew what they had seen. And it was no gator...

Still, the question lurked on their minds as they peeped out at the night sky from their bedroom window.

Could that thing come on land?
