WOW..... The Merc with the Mouth SPEECHLESS?! Has the world gone MAD?! HAHAHA! But seriously, great picture man. I see that someone else likes to make Deadpool a anime character, huh? Well, if it isn't asking too much, you think you can check out my Deadpool pics? Not as good as yours, but I need feedback on how my style is. Here are the links:

Hi, Ron.
I was checking old pics and noticed this comment of yours that I had not replied to.
Deadpool does indeed look good anime style. Good job with your pics.

uh... not to sound stupid but what is he saying?

Cesar-Hernandez In reply to URmom340 [2008-07-03 08:18:46 +0000 UTC]
Of course you don't sound stupid. I did ask for help for this one.
The balloon says "sugoku omoshiroi", which I meant as an expression you say when you see something funny.
The other signs say "gyahahahaha", which is Dougie's laugh .
Aunque lo del globo no me consta, pues pedΓ un tipo "slang", o algo asΓ...

"sugoi"γοΌγγγγ (from where the adjective "sugoku" came from) means cool,
while "omoshiroi" οΌγι’η½γγorγγγγγγ means fun...
just to help you translating ^^

Thanks.
It helps knowing where phrases come from .

Heheheheh, I said I cannot be entirely sure about the dialog balloon. I asked for help on that one, and I requested some slang-type phrase.

Interesting question; Would Doug necessarily get jokes in Japanese? Just because he knows the language doesn't mean he'd get the cultural humour, does it?
π: 0 β©: 2
Cesar-Hernandez In reply to Icon-UK [2008-04-22 22:55:23 +0000 UTC]
I do believe he would, because...
He does not just magically know a language just like that. His subconscious does quantum leaps in association, even when given almost no material to work with.
Show him a few symbols, with little relationship among them, and he will start decyphering the language with them, when no one else could.
This would be applied to him knowing (thanks to how his powers work), exactly what makes a joke funny. Except if it is an inner joke or a regional joke, if it is a language joke, he would get it alright.
That's what I think.

Actually, just noticed he's reading a New Mutants manga, so that would explain him finding it funny!

Is that Japanese? I think Deadpool knows Japanese. I could be wrong... and of course, he might pretend to not know Japanese, or whatever language that is, to be funny.

Deadpool is fluent in german, french, italian, chinese, japanese, and many other languages.

Whoa, I guess I really should pay more attention to him now. I have not read as many stories with him as I have with Doug (and Doug's been dead since the eighties).

Saqism In reply to Pencil-Dragon [2008-02-17 19:44:39 +0000 UTC]
And people have the nerve to call him a baffoon.

Saqism In reply to Cesar-Hernandez [2008-04-06 08:52:23 +0000 UTC]
I've never thought so. I've always felt that Deadpool's lack of judgement is rooted in something deeper than a lack of intelligence.
π: 0 β©: 1
Cesar-Hernandez In reply to Saqism [2008-04-07 00:24:42 +0000 UTC]
But "buffoon" is just that he is a clown or likes to goof off, and that he does.
There are very intelligent clowns...

Saqism In reply to Cesar-Hernandez [2008-04-07 07:05:48 +0000 UTC]
I agree, there are some very intelligent clowns. They are the bane of Deadpool's existance, because the smarter the clown the better they can hide. Don't know why they bother, they're only delaying the inevitable.

That's a good explanation, you get a No Prize.

It's like the old Marvel tradition.

Cesar-Hernandez In reply to Saqism [2007-07-28 03:58:39 +0000 UTC]
When you detect an error on a Marvel Comic, well, you know it can't really be an error, because a Marvel Comic is perfect. So, if you come by an explanation of why what seems to be an error isn't, you receive a No Prize. What that No Prize is, only the winner knows.

Saqism In reply to Cesar-Hernandez [2007-07-28 05:00:46 +0000 UTC]
So your saying I was wrong. Now, I know for a fact that he knows Japanese(I checked),so that must means that Japanese that is not.
Cool. Didn't know that. Learn something knew everyday. Still abit foggy to me though.
π: 0 β©: 1
Cesar-Hernandez In reply to Saqism [2007-07-28 05:28:12 +0000 UTC]
No, I said you were correct.
Deadpool knows japanese, and the pic I drew portrayed him as if he didn't. That would be an error. But your explanation gives a reason why it was not an error at all. That is why you get a "No Prize".
π: 0 β©: 1
Saqism In reply to Cesar-Hernandez [2007-07-28 07:28:01 +0000 UTC]
Ah, so basically, you your intention was a mistake, but I gave you a reason for it to still be correct, despite the error in your intention. Difficult concept to put into words.

Thanks!
I can't take all the credit. A boy from a New Mutants forum (some time ago) asked for a pic with Doug and Wade. I would have never drawn them together on my own. I did try to draw a funny situation with both of them .
