I love SK, too!

I am still short on reading all of his books. Although it is easy to know which ones I have read by looking at the gallery, as I have drawn pics of quite a few of them. I have to think which ones I have read but still do not have any drawings. I know Cell was my first, but I have not drawn Jordan (my fave) or anyone else from that one. And the same could apply to the short story collections I have read, as there is a chance I may not have drawn anything from them.

If I may ask, how old are you? Did you read the books as they were coming out?

I only started the trip to the DT recently.

I'm 31 hahaha.
I started reading the Dark Tower books way back when Wolves of the Cala came out.

These are pretty great, I love seeing your interpretation of Kings characters. Especially when there isn't anything to go off off visually.

Ah, but there is. He does give descriptions for the characters; it's just that he gives them little by little. I have my own folder with photographs I take to parts of the book where character descriptions are given.

For Jake, we know he is so pretty, he looks like a girl. His hair was cut because he hated his longer (70s style?) hair for making him even more feminine. His eyes are blue. His uniform has a blue blazer, red necktie and gray pants.

For Eddie we know he has hazel eyes. His eyes are pretty, and have helped him get sex for 7 of his 21 (actually, 22) years of age. He starts very thin, then gets muscle as he spends months in Mid-World. His chest is smooth, unlike his brother's. His hair starts short enough to make him look like a good boy when he is traveling with all the drug on him. His shirt is blue and has those patterns on them; later on he wears deerskin (for shirt, pants and shoes).

In Jake's dream and present time, he wears a green bandana and those shorts. In the dream he wears that yellow shirt with the Mid-World text.

Damm, you like so on top of this lol.
I need to read these again lol.
But oddly enough I remember Jake's good looks, and Eddie's buck skin clothing lol

I have to. I dislike "artist's interpretations" when there are thing explicitly said by the author.

There are cases where no description is given at all, so there is where one has to create either from scratch or based on knowledge about the characters' surroundings and experiences.

I don't have The Talisman. I have Black House, but I want to wait so I can read them in order.

My favorite is The Stand.

Here are some DT pics I've drawn:

Here's another Eddie pic:

It's during the fight to avenge his brother. I know he would most likely no longer have irritated skin where the drugs were taped to his chest, but it was a nice effect to keep for a while longer, I think.

I just made it to one third of the fourth book (I finished the chapter with the party where "William" (Roland) gets stupid and treats Susan like trash.

I like to devote all of my attention to the books when I am reading them, but it's been a long time now that I have not had the chance to do it. I will continue when I can finally read them with the respect they deserve.

Did you read Wind through Key whole?

Cesar-Hernandez In reply to DuneTheZangoose [2018-05-25 07:20:23 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, but I want to read it as it was published, to try to mimic the experience of the ones who got the books back then.

I am keeping notes on him, too, to try to get the right mix of characteristics.

I don't want to draw my own "cute creature" and just paint it with Oy's colors.

I don't have my notes here, so I can't double check, but I think it mentions specific parts looking like those of otehr animals, but it was more than one. It does have a long neck, I think, something I've noticed some fan artists leaving out.

(Long-ish, actually, not really long like a giraffe's.)
