it is quite possible to do this scene in Vue 10, I didn't use any new tool from Vue 11 here
little trick : After Effects is a great tool to make small editing in postproduction as film emulation or to use the depth of field

i have a hard time making mountains seem faded in the distance. even with bringing up areal perspective. that just adds a dumb blue tint to everything sometimes.
i'll try some post work in AE instead of PS

yes aerial perspective amplifies effects panel "Sky, fog & haze" so it also boost the color blue of the atmosphere, the better in my opinion to work atmosphere is to start with all sliders to 0 and adjust gradually as the need, subsequently adjust slightly aerial perspective if necessary.
Also do not hesitate to work with land whose scale is respected, for example in the scene the terrain background is : ~ 20Km

Vue 11 is excellent maybe a little bit slower than Vue 10 , but the new Ecopainter is really good & the new effects like rain and snow are very successful
