There was a saying, that a mistake made at the right time was sometimes better than waiting too long to do the right thing. Dara Camacho made a lot of mistakes, by her own admission, but counted on making them fast enough, with enough force, that they weren't really mistakes anymore. Instead, her mistakes became happy accidents, and her happy accidents became beautiful more often than not. She was more precise, more exacting in the classroom, but here on the mats she relished every opportunity to let loose and freestyle a little.

So when her haphazard attempt to switch position and put Breanna against the cage intersected the Louisiana prospect's cage-assisted takedown attempt, what else was the med school student supposed to call it except an unfortunate accident? She hadn't intended to end up on in a pile of grasping limbs and flailing bodies, but she certainly wasn't complaining.

For her part, the persistent Black woman was unwilling to sit and let Dara recover. Instead she sent any free limb into Dara's face for body as hard as she could manage, satisfied with the pained exhales she drew from the blue-haired Bruin. This wasn't what Dara needed from this round or this fight, but there was a time to push and this wasn't it. Instead, as the bell rung to end the round, both Breanna Rhodes and Dara Camacho were left with 1 final minute to think about what they could still do to bring the championship home.
