my idea for the empty space: put some heavy machinery destroying the forest. The immediate reaction i got was the trees (and mankind) crying out for help to "save the forest" or save the earth. When colouring it, you could make the machinery come under dark clouds of fire and so, while having still some blue sky -very little- on the side of the trees!

I kinda like the idea to make it a more "political-type-off" piece... like an advert for greenpeace or so LOL. but unfortunate not my first intension with this piece the right bottem corner already has a "weeping willow tree girl" thank you for your insight though
i most appreciate it

blimey!
very well drawn, those leaves especially and I like the concept
I actually like it like this, I know that the way it has been scanned has altered the colours, but that is all I would do to it, just add pale washes of colour across the background.
I see you have some more ideas already, so I'll be intriged to see how this finally turns out

Esther this is great, shame about the smudge marks though, but you can fix that on the comp, also the border
I really like it, very symbolic, i didn't notice it was 2 people at first thne i saw it was a man and woman, Don't worry about the negative space, it suits this drawing, the space will leave more thought for the viewer

i think maybe some sort of mountainess backdrop, a forest might be a bit too cliche
maybe a river curving round from behind the female

PLEASE... don't put text in it, it's probably my personal taste, but usually text gives me a sort of cheap ass feeling to it. I think art speaks (at least should speak, and this one does) for itself...
Some ideas...
- the crouching dryad is cool
- a dryad from another different perspective, maybe above or below (like the view of a mouse or a bird)
- Some cool Viking or Celtic Rune, which has something to do with the rest of the drawing.
- A real close up on a face of the dryad, which really shows the barktexture and so on
-All the Dryads look towards the sky, ad something which really explains why they do so...
- A big leaf, with something hidden in it's pattern of veigns (I don't know what you call the little lines on a leaf in English). Maybe a face, or just something abstract...
- A man with an axe, getting his ass kicked by one of these guys (personal fav)
Hope this gets you somewhere!

hey hey hey
first i wanna thank you for the immense great comment... i'm drowned with new ideas and my artist block feels to be gone at once!
Then i wanna thnx u for the great compliment. i want my art to tell its story without text. so dont be frightend... no way i will add lyrics or something.
I believe theres two types of art in this matter, the one with lyrics where the drawings have only a background meaning and this what i try to achiece... art explaining itself
Then, i am thinking of doing a hand completally detailed instead of a face. because i have made the border part of the image as u can see at the guy (the plant is going over the border) i cannot do a major close up, or change the perspective to much caus the composition wont be correct then anymore. anyway... i wanna do a hand in detail.(barktexture n stuff (hope my skill is good enough)
I am for certain going to add a celtic rune or something thats way cool
also gonna add something in the sky ... great idea... i just made em look up without reason... but this is a brilliant idea!
I also love the leave idea but i am afraid i cant add both that and the hand... so i have to let that go...
also loved the "kick-ass" idea (litterly and figurly) but i can not add this because it is not a comical piece i will hold the idea for a later sketch, i just cant include it in this piece, because the axe guy would have become a tree himself... ironic aint it.. a tree holding an axe?
well cant do that but your idea have helped me immensely so thank you extremely much

ahw.. It's nice to know it helped you! And don't worry about your skills... Judging from the rest of the drawing, you don't have anything to worry about! And your right... battle scenes may be a bit to comical for an expressional kind of drawing. Can't wait to see the final one!

floor: Maybe a bit more boots will fill up
Backgroubnd: Welll i can;t say nmuch on it but maybe you can draw maybe 1 or 2 more???
that's it for now cya!

thnx for commenting the sky idea is added.... my vision of how to make this image is complete i hope i can draw it as i want it to become
wich wont be easy LOL but yea
I am sorry but adding lyrics in my drawings is not my style, my art has to express itself without the need of words but thnx for the offer

You can put in the empty space a poem or a lirici of a beautifol song. That could be a great wallpaper.

thnx for the idea, but i am afraid i cant use it. not doing lyrics since i want this piece to be selfexplanatory and tell its own story without the use of words...
but r comment is greatly appreciated
