This is an interesting piece. I've never heard of Jonah Hex, glancing at a comic in the library about him one day, but I like what you did with the SJ style put into it.

Great character. His animated appearances (including Batman: Brave & The Bold) are ALL awesome. Comic is awesome. Movie sucked.

"Hey, he's from DC! That must mean he has some superpower! No? ...Well let's let him talk to dead people."

Jonah Hex is at his best as a simple bounty hunter who only answers to himself in the Old West. ...Or if you go that way, also as a time-displaced bounty hunter who only answers to himself in the future.

Hope this is a FF, CR. Hex really deserves one.

Mine to. I even liked the movie even though it wasn't exactly loyal to the source material.

Agreed, hes my #1 favorite Anti-hero in comics, next to Secret Six & Deadpool. The origin story from his recent series was one of those moments I said "Holy Shit" aloud after finnishing the TPB.

Love the style you used to depict the Gunman.

One of your favs and got such a disappointing movie.
Think the problem with that flick CR was their lack of understanding. I mean these guys went in thinking it's just DC Comics there for he is a super hero. Instead they SHOULD have gone in with the mind set of it being a western.

Oh dude, did you see the animated short yet of Jonah Hex? It's really cool great animation, wonderful voice acting the only real issue I have with it is that ti falls much to short. Watching it, I feel it should have been a full length animated film instead of just like 15 minutes.

If you haven't seen it yet I recommend picking up the dvd Superman/Shazam, it has Jonah Hex, Green Arrow and the Specter along with the Superman/Shazam Special and episodes chosen by Bruce Timm as Bonus. They got the Jonah Hex episode from Batman TAS, the Specter/Phantom Stranger from brave and the bold. The first Episode of Justice League Unlimited for Green Arrow and "The Clash" on of my favorite justice league episodes where Captain Marvel Fights superman, a great episode.

Oh an this is a wicked pic, what style where you going for with this? I see Gennedy in there, a lil' of the Powerpuff Girls variety or samurai jack. I know Gennedy created Jack but I am not sure how much involvement he had on Powerpuff Girls.

Get back to me if you seen the Jonah Hex short, or just that DVD I'd really like to hear your opinion and discuss with you.

you mean they dont know how to play western antihero with scar mark. There are words to say about that but it best not to say or would get ya ban at this site.

coolclaytony In reply to NeroAngelus [2011-02-24 10:33:42 +0000 UTC]

Im personally glad they went the direction they went with this movie. Besides it was still a western, its in an obscure genre we like to call "Weird Westerns". Besides, the writers knew very well they werent following the source material. Jonah Hex would not have been nearly as exciting if it were true to the comics 100%, further more, it just seems pointless to have a DC movie without superhero elements in it. It's like asking for a videogame with no disk in the case.
