I can see why u said that, and not really becuse the novel itself. I beliv for evry person thers somthing, a detaild, a moment in life that needs to be remember, althoug just like this two they probably dont know it, just like sometimes we dont either, details cr details. There is were the weight of the world laids.

Ooh, nice little Rorschach(sp?) reflection there. I like how you manage to keep your artistic style in your work, but still infuse the original artist in there to make it believable and as if it came off the comic page.

You know, that scene sticks with me as well.
As Dan said, it's almost like he wants to make friends, but lacks the capacity or skills to do so. So I guess this minor contact he has with the news vendor remembering to set aside a copy- just for him-is fairly significant.
And it was just plain hilarious besides. (LOVE the reflection in the coffee. It took me a few seconds to spot it. Epic win.)

I absolutely LOVE that one panel for some reason. I'm glad you did a different perspective.

I like the green gloves his original bo0kself wears. Reminds me of the Oblivion Lost mod for STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl. Your character, the Marked One, wears green gloves. In the original unmodded game, he wears black ones.
America desperately needs to embrace the spirit of Rorschach. We need to erase this nihilist epoch and scrawl a new moral design upon the blank face of the world.

At the risk of looking obsessed, I've been fav'ing a lot of Watchmen art. There's the cute and funny things like chibis and paperdolls, and then there's the awesome things like oil paintings on glass, and then there's just the utterly amazing like this. Not only did you keep true to the book, you made an excellent piece of art (as opposed to a lot of 'slash' art that's floating around, as I just don't have a taste for that sort of thing).
Guess what?

You're welcome. This is my favourite scene from the book. XD Where he scares the crap out of the vendor twice in as many minutes.

I loved Newsvendor Bernard in the comics, I'm upset they cut him and the other Bernard from the movie almost altogether.

Bernie spitting his coffee everywhere was always one of my favorite scenes.
Walter freaking out over having to touch bras is pretty high up there too.

No, I will never forget. Never in the face of Armagedon
That is awesome- love the coffee's reflection and your take on Mr. Kovacs. If Jackie Earl Haley doesn't get an Academy Award nom/win or any recognition for that performance, fans will have the blood of Hollywood's critics on their hands

Reflection in the coffee = epic win.
Regarding the movie, I saw one of the cut newsstand scenes on YouTube recently. The guy they got to play big Bernie is great, and he interacts with Jackie Earl Haley perfectly. I love when he grabs the "Tales of the Black Freighter" comic away from little Bernie, then turns around and Walter's right there, and he yelps "OH, Jesus..." - you kind of have to see it to appreciate it, but it's hilarious.

I love those moments in the comic. I love how he says "Good Afternoon Sir..." Most respect the poor guy ever got.

For the record, they'll be restoring all the newsstand stuff for the three-hour-plus Director's Cut DVD this summer, as well as the entire "Tales of the Black Freighter" story, the death of Hollis Mason, and a bunch of other scenes they couldn't fit in the theatrical cut.
