Description This is the title card from a very special upcoming episode of Familiar Faces. So special I may need some help...

A tragicly under used Batman Batman villian, dispite the fact that her first apparence is so rememberable.

Such an underrated villain; really wish that we see more of her in future comics or future animated films. Β ^_^

Sad that she's so underused.

She reminds me a lot of Darla Dimple from Cat's Don't Dance.

Why does everyone tend to forget her? I remember her episode and being one of my favorites. It's just so tragic at the end and I love it for that. I am glad he did a video for her because she deserve more recognition and her episode is truly a gem.

Probably one of the best Batman villains out there. And what better way to convey this and officially reveal your face than with assistance from the Critic who got Paul Dini's attention with his Top 11 Best Episodes?

Loved this episode and loved your review. But it occurred to me (and this can probably be explained by Mary being a Prima Donna or hard to work with, or too many people associating her with her sitcom role) but why couldn't Mary get more parts? Think about it; Mary's an adult who doesn't age and can still convince people, even Batman, that she's a real little girl. You don't need special insurance or considerations like chaperones or tutors since she's not a minor, and unlike most actual child actors, she can actually act. Add that to all the years the public had to forget about her old role before being reintroduced to her cast in a completely different light by her fight with Batman, and what studio wouldn't jump on every creey-evil-demon-child-thriller script they can find while the news is hot and have their fingers primed to dial her number the moment she gets out of Arkham? And after that she's good for any fantasy or sci-fi role that calls for a character that doesn't age or ages very slowly, or even a show like Lost where time passes slower on the show than it does in real life.

Also, wouldn't Clayface make a better partner for her than Croc? He was an actor too.

Some have suggested Mad Hatter would actually be a better partner for her. Since unlike Croc, Mad Hatter DOES want to connect with his fellow human beings, but is a sociological mess and prefers to escape into fantasy rather than face reality whenever things don't go his way. Both would rather live in their fantasies than deal with the real world. And both turn violent when people don't play along.Β

Mary DID try to get more parts, but was her one role in a SERIOUS part (Lady Macbeth) met with ruthless reviews. You're RIGHT totally and utterly that as a child actress there would have been no end of part she could have COMPETENTLY played: but IMHO she wanted to be accepted in the world of adults.Β

I was talking more about why there wasn't interest from talent agencies, not Mary's own efforts to make a comeback. They could've made a really good episode based on that premise with Mary being excited at first because she was finally back in the limelight, but then getting sick of being typecast and having her work overshadowed by her reputation as "the former child actress who went crazy and tried to kill her old co-stars". But in her only other appearance the subject of her acting career, whether she was being offered parts but decided to stay away from acting or whether (for some reason) people still weren't interested in her, is never brought up. I guess Mad Hatter could be an interesting match for her (especially since I hear he's a pedophile in the comics). I imagine that relationship being very much like Joker and Harley's. Mary would be all over him like she was with Croc, while the Hatter just uses her as a substitute for Alice and doesn't think twice about using his tech to subvert her free will whenever it inconveniences him and then abandoning her at the literal drop of a hat.

This was the first episode of Familiar Faces I saw, and I happened to come across it while searching YouTube for Nostalgia Critic videos. I think you did her character justice both in this picture and in the video. Too bad they didn't make her as sympathetic in that second episode.

Have you considered doing a Familiar Face for Annie (aka the "daughter" of Clayface?)

It was a good episode. Baby-Doll is one of my favorite villains in Batman's history (after Joker and Two-Face) and she didn't get enough exposure to audiences. IMHO, the second episode featuring her ("Love is a Croc") was not necessary and it kinda washes away some of the charm and genuine motivations Mary Dahl had in the first one, but even with that she's a solid character that just needed a little more love --from their creators.

She actually had a very deep voice when she spoke seriously though.

She was one of the two batman villains that started out as a TV star. Let me give you hint that will make everyone ask more questions. She had relationship with killer croc having sympathy with him. Wow I remember her well should I roll a clip of her or wait till you do her profile. She appeared in two episodes and first episode ended with her… Should I keep quiet till so not to spoil your announcement of her?
