Species: Her species is called a Dlobok. It is loosely related to the genus Lycalopex; [link] Dlobok are not very high up in society, usually taking on manual labor roles such as making crafting items like shoes and jewelry. They recently (within the last 100 years) had their numbers significantly thinned by a virus that targeted specifically Dlobok. It was called the Hollowing Plague.

Personality: Orca is a very obsessive person, she is constantly withdrawn from the world around her, only being brought out with concern for something "interesting" or unusual pertaining to character. She is constantly on the look-out for ulterior motives even when there isn't one, and dislikes people who are too forward, saying they are "boring" and leave nothing for her to investigate. She thinks of herself as a decent person in terms of virtue and tries to act according to that, but she has no real interest in being nice or friendly besides that she has defined herself under those characteristics (aka, she is not very strong on empathy). Impede on her investigative endeavors and you are sure to make an enemy of her; she absolutely hates people that get in her way.

History: Her parents, Fior and Jymeni, were hunters. They lived fulfilled lives (although affected by the Hollowing Plague) and had pure values. But they didn't have very much involvement with Orca's upbringing; she had a deep distrust of her parents from a young age and often ran away from home. Her father trusted in her and believed she would always come back to her family, and her mother was absent a lot of the time. She learned what and who she knows from her time on the streets.
Alike her relationship with her parents, she instantly developed a distrust of the king and his family and motives.
She has known about her ability to create illusions since she was 12.

Abilities:
-She has a gift for being able to create illusions.
-They are not visible universally (only to those she intends) and are completely unable to harm another person.
-How she makes them draws from the ability to dream, so they are usually fairly elaborate.
-She cannot fully control them, though, and sometimes they will lead in unexpected directions alike a dream.
-They will include all senses, but real sensations (like someone yelling something in the background) will sometimes leak through.
-How the illusions are actually performed is with a form of hypnosis. However, she does not need to remain stationary or continue the motions to maintain it, she just needs to keep her mind focused.
-The subject will be unaware that the change in environment is unusual (they will fully accept it as real, no matter how smart or cunning they are), similar to how there is a major suspension of disbelief when dreaming.
-Willpower has nothing to do with breaking out of the illusion.

Limits:
-The illusions are completely unable to harm the victim. There is no "the mind tricks the body" kind of stuff.
-If the subject goes into a state of shock--either from the illusion being too extreme or because of the content of the illusion--the illusion will break.
-The illusions are incapable of being simple; she cannot make herself disappear or simply trick the guard into thinking his buddy is the enemy; the whole world must change.
-Outside influences (like a voice, pain, or physical contact) can break the illusion. But this is not a guarantee.
-The more details within the illusion the harder it is for her to maintain it.
-She needs to include placeholders for other people (she hasn't yet mastered erasing them from the scene completely; there is too much risk of the subject sensing their presences and breaking the illusion) and that can be stressful, so the less people around the better.
